2024 AAPS National Biotechnology Conference

The 2024 AAPS National Biotechnology Conference will take place in San Francisco, CA from Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16. Yokogawa Fluence Analytics’ Life Science Product Manager, Dr. Jason Allison, will present during the poster sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dr. Allison’s poster is titled Static Light Scattering Signatures Used to Identify and Minimize Aggregation During Formulation Development. The poster is based on data from an ARGEN experiment that characterized the monomer to dimer transition rate of Immunoglobulin-G (IgG) related to buffer conditions. Using this data, a formulation was developed which increased colloidal stability of IgG nearly tenfold under thermal stress. In this application, ARGEN demonstrates that it is a versatile platform to provide comprehensive stability landscapes for all classes of biopolymers (RNA, proteins, peptides, sugars and AAVs) under various thermal and solution conditions.

ARGEN is designed to provide real-time insights into biopolymer stability. Specifically, ARGEN helps biopharma teams:

  1. Monitor and characterize protein, peptide, and RNA aggregation and degradation in situ and in real time.
  2. Identify early and late-phase oligomeric state transitions as they occur.
  3. Model various conditions encountered during bioprocessing, such as mechanical (stirring) and thermal stress.
  4. Analyze up to 16 biopolymer samples in parallel, to significantly accelerate the data collection process.
  5. Determine shelf-life for biopolymers and biopolymer complexes, especially at low temperatures.
