Fluence Analytics CEO to Present ACOMP during ACHEMA 2018

Alex Reed to discuss online measurement and control of polymer properties as a key enabler of smart manufacturing during ACHEMA 2018

ACHEMA 2018

Fluence Analytics CEO, Alex Reed, will discuss measurement, modeling, and control of polymer properties for an evolution into smart manufacturing during the ACHEMA 2018 congress on Process Analytical Technology. ACHEMA 2018 is June 11-15 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Alex’s talk, Online Measurement and Control of Polymer Properties – Benefits, Challenges and Enabling Smart Manufacturing, is scheduled for Thursday, June 14 at 3 p.m. inside room CMF – Harmonie 1.

In an attempt to monitor and control polymer properties, many industrial companies optimistically adopt synergistic solutions that incorporate hardware, software and data analytics. However, these strategies can be challenging and complex. Alex’s presentation will provide clarity on the value derived from the online measurement and control of polymerization reactions. The talk will also address the challenges to implementing such a process and how to surmount them from an industrial perspective. Additionally, Alex will highlight ACOMP by Fluence Analytics, a smart manufacturing system that continuously monitors polymerization reactions in real time.

The talk will conclude with a review of smart manufacturing initiatives in the U.S. These programs include the Smart Manufacturing Leadership Coalition and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office: Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute. The presentation’s main takeaway will be the importance of using new advanced measurement systems, artificial intelligence, advanced data analytics, and smart manufacturing efforts to yield novel insights for optimizing polymer manufacturing.
