Technical Bulletin: ACOMP

Application Note – Monitoring the Polymerization of PVP
ACOMP successfully monitored the free radical polymerization of PVP, a versatile water-soluble polymer used in many applications including pharmaceutical tablet coatings, binder in personal care products, inks and coatings. Two batch reactions were run at 1.5% and 2.5% initiator concentration to monitor the effect of a small change in initiator concentration on reaction kinetics, weight average molecular weight and intrinsic viscosity. Case Study – Specialty Polymer Manufacturer Uses ACOMP to Monitor Realtime Monomer Conversion
Prior to ACOMP, the manufacturer’s process and quality control procedure was to manually pull a sample from the reactor for characterization of polymer properties. The ACOMP system was installed at the customer’s facility enabling automatic, realtime measurements of polymer properties during production. Now, the manufacturer can immediately respond when the polymerization process or its inputs require adjustments. Read more here.

Blog Post – Polymer Families Supported by ACOMP
Fluence Analytics launched its Applications Engineering Center during summer 2016. Working directly with customers and conducting internal R&D, Fluence Analytics has used ACOMP to monitor, and in some cases control, numerous polymerizations across a spectrum of polymer families. Read the full article to view the polymer families supported by ACOMP and to learn more about utilizing realtime data to optimize efficiency, cost, quality and sustainability of polymer manufacturing processes.

Technical Bulletin: ARGEN

Technical Note – ARGEN – The Aggregation Rate GENerator
ARGEN is a next-generation instrument for realtime, continuous testing and characterization of biopharmaceuticals and natural and synthetic polymers. It continuously measures the light scattering from 16 independent solutions to assess the pharmaceutical stability of therapeutic proteins and natural polymers. Read the full technical note.

Technical Note – Determining Stability of Monoclonal Antibodies
This technical note discusses how to conduct an analysis using the ARGEN software to determine the Aggregation Rate of multiple samples as stressed under various thermal conditions. ARGEN allows quick, efficient analysis of multiple samples using SLS as a noninvasive method for continuous monitoring of aggregation for different proteins and protein formulations.
